Have you notice the 2013 Nissan Altima SL on the road yet?  When Sutherlin Nissan of Orlando called to ask what color I would like when I review the new 2013 Nissan Altima SL, I instantly googled the images to see my options. I then sent a text to my girls to see what they would like – we got red!  Madi was thrilled!

Arriving at the dealership I was welcomed by their friendly sales team.  I filled out a little paperwork and then I was introduced to a gorgeous, shiny red Altima!  Hello weekend ride, it’s so nice to meet you!

Mike from the sales team took the time to give me the Nissan Altima 101, and I was quickly impressed.  With keyless entry being the first of a long list of features shown to me, I quickly got in and had fun learning all about the latest model and what makes it unique from any Altimas from years past.  First, let me talk about the seats…they are hands down the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in inside a car.  They hug you!  And there’s a reason for this – per Nissan-

Nissan turned to seating and posture research from NASA, which says the least fatiguing seats are those that come closest to a ‘neutral posture’ – a relaxed position that the human body takes in a weightless environment.
Utilizing a new articulated seat shape with continuous support from the pelvis to the chest and distribution of localized deformation characteristics, the “zero-gravity” Altima seats help reduce muscular and spinal loads, and improve blood flow, thereby helping reduce fatigue during long periods behind the wheel.

They may sound “out of this world” to you…bottom line…the seats ROCK!  They also have a nifty button to heat them – along with the steering wheel.  Fancy right?  Being a mom and always having to have our water bottles whenever we are going from place to place, it was a nice feature to have not only the cup holders in the middle console area and backseat armrest, but also in the doors in both the front and back seats.  And I have to mention the convenient USB plug that not only charges your device but also allows you to play music and will download your contacts – to your car.  All part of their technical package.  And for those that need a little more juice, there are 2 other outlets to plug in car chargers.

The dashboard wasn’t inspired by NASA, but was pretty much as impressive.  This Advanced Drive-Assist™ Display is an innovative new system designed to help keep you focused on the road.  The crystal-clear 4 inch LCD screen is centered in the instrument cluster and displays call interactions, service warnings and more that I could flip through the screens by pushing a button on the steering wheel.  Such a cool feature!!!

The top-of-the-four-cylinder-line 2.5 SL adds pushbutton ignition, power seats, dual zone climate control, a backup camera, leather trim, 9-speaker Bose stereo and a few other bits of window dressing that includes LED brake and turn signal lights for $28,830.

Taking a little road trip on the last weekend of summer was a treat.  We got to experience it in all sorts of fun Florida weather.  Wind, rain, sun, day and night….and it drives like a dream.  Even as a 4 cylinder, I was impressed with the pick up and ease of driving on both the interstate as well as in the city.

I made a video while heading back reluctantly to return the car to the dealership.  I love this car!  Taking it on a 450 mile trip and not stopping for gas one time – as if all the other features aren’t enough already, this is a why you need to check out the new 2013 Nissan Altima SL.
