Blue Harbor Resort and Spa Sheboygan Wisconsin

When my friend Kristy and and I started chatting about some work we are embarking on together, I decided it would be more productive to just go visit her in her town of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  Since I would be checking out the area for a future blogger trip, I reached out to the Blue Harbor Resort and Spa.  I am so glad that I did for I had no idea just what kind of treat I was in for.

LakeMichigan

Just about an hour from Milwaukee, Blue Harbor Resort and Spa is a gorgeous plantation style resort located on the massive Lake Michigan.  Offering an array of water sports like surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and even large events on the lake, like the IFDS Blind Match Racing World Championship that took place just the day before I arrived.  It truly is a breathtaking view.  But water sports isn’t all the resort offers.  In fact, the amenities are many.  Look at this list!

Kids Activities

At Blue Harbor Resort we have a rule: Everything must be fun!  In our Kids Club we have all different kinds of activities, glitter tattoos, crafts, bingo and story-time designed to enlighten and entertain your children ages 12 years old and younger.

Don’t forget to check out our arcade area for the whole family too!

So what did I do while I was at the resort?  I was very fortunate to have a Captain Suite, which was a two bedroom unit, with a pull out couch, fireplace and full kitchen.  Of course more than enough room for me alone, and perfect for a family of 4 or 5.

Then I dined in both the lobby restaurant, Beacon, as well as the fine dining Latitude 43.  I loved, but passed on the pile of perfectly crispy bacon (thanks 21 day meatless challenge), but enjoyed some fresh fruit, yogurt and danishes.  At Latitude 43, Kristy and I shared the perfectly crisp truffle fries, I had the soup of the day which was a tomato based soup, and the flat bread pizza.  Kristy had the seafood chowder, crab mac n cheese and asparagus.  We opted for the owner of the resorts own wine called Pull from his Broken Earth Winery.  It was really, really good.  Dinner was perfect, and the view was to die for!

I was treated to a spectacular spa treatment at Reflections, which I will be sharing more in another post.  With renovations starting soon, the space is about to change drastically, however, the service was wonderful and the staff was so nice.

I really enjoyed exploring the property.  The grounds are simply gorgeous.  The weather was a perfect 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky.  I loved that there were Adirondack chairs which you could relax by a fire, maybe even make some s’mores.

And then before I left, I had a chance to check out the water park and mini golf course with Kristy’s two boys ages 5 and 3.

They went crazy when they saw the water park, but the glow in the dark mini golf they both said was their favorite.

However, I think they really loved the Boathouse Suite!  It is perfect for the younger kids!  They were so excited to check out the bunks in their own separate area of the room.

With views like this for breakfast, and the noise of the waves and seagulls, you can’t help but find true relaxation for the whole family!

So what can I say?  I really enjoyed my stay at this gorgeous resort.  I am actually looking forward to going back and doing an event there so other bloggers can see for themselves and we can try out some of those fun summer water sports and maybe even get dumped on in the water park!

Stay connected with Blue Harbor Resort and Spa on their website, Facebook and Twitter!

*I visited Sheboygan, Wisconsin on my own, however, Blue Harbor Resort and Spa were kind enough to cover all my expenses at the resort.  As always, all opinions are my own.
