Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 World Premiere

Review

I am not sure how many red carpet events I have now attended with Disney, and they all are always fantastic and memorable. However, the Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 World Premiere was a different vibe. A purple carpet and neon lights with tunes from the soundtrack, there was no doubt what premiere this was, and at the Dolby Theater none the less. You know, that place they hold the Oscars. Grand, fun, hip, and just a whole lot of fun with the who’s who of the Marvel Universe, this was a night to remember.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 World Premiere

Who was there? Well, of course, the cast and the who’s who of Disney and Marvel people wouldn’t miss this event. Here’s a ton of photos of just who graced that purple carpet.

Quite the carpet right? Did you see Sylvester Stallone and David Hasselhoff with their families in the mix? And the way Chris and Anna look at each other? Sigh…oh and of course Kurt and Goldie! I mean, the carpet was awesome!

Here are a few of my personal shots.

Being a Marvel carpet, the dress wasn’t as formal as it was chic. I opted for a slick back due, very ’80’s Robert Palmer, Simply Irresistible esque.

Once inside and right before the movie started the cast got up on stage with Director James Gunn where he spoke about how excited he was for the night and for everyone to see the film finally. His parents were there and he mentioned how grateful he is for their support.

GOTG Vol 2 Review

I don’t want to give anything away, so I will leave it at this, the movie was awesome. I didn’t think I could like anything better than the first. James Gunn is a genius when it comes to these characters and telling their story. It is as equally funny as it moving. And if you thought you loved the characters the first round, just wait. Drax is funnier, Star-Lord more sarcastic, Gamora more bad ass, Rocket more mean in the most lovable way, and Baby Groot will steal your heart and make you proud.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.
