How to Have a Brilliant Morning

How much attention do you pay to your morning routine? Do you even have one? You probably do, even if you’re not quite aware of it. How we start our mornings sets the tone for the rest of the day, so it would be wise to do it right. Now, there are many little rituals you can try out until you find those that fit you like a glow and make you feel good and energized at the beginning of a new day. That is why we’ll share with you some habits, tips, and tricks on how to have a brilliant morning followed by a successful day and a fulfilling night.

How to Have a Brilliant Morning

Have an Early Start

Ok, night owls will probably scowl when they see this first tip, but hey, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Nothing can really compare to the briskness of an early morning, when everything is as fresh as if it was just brought into the world, yourself included. You deserve to have some time for yourself before you shuffle out the door to get to work or to drive the kids to school, and there’s really no time like early morning. Try your best to get up at least an hour before you have to leave the house – that should give you plenty of time to gather your energy, get some breakfast and get ready for the day ahead of you.

You will be surprised at just how different you will feel during the day once you start implementing the habit of getting up early into your routine. You’ll feel and be more productive, you’ll have more time to do everything, and you will definitely slow down the pace of your life and still manage to do everything you planned.

Steer Clear from Social Media

This is a big one, especially because the first thing millions of people do is check their phones, Facebook, emails, etc. However tempting browsing social networks is, just skip it after you wake up. If you manage without it for a whole night, another hour will do no harm. Besides, if you get stuck checking your messages, then the fact that you woke up earlier will mean nothing, seeing that you’ve spent all the precious time you reserved for yourself on checking someone else’s holiday photos. Your morning should be exclusively for you, no social media interference needed. It might be tough to do it in the beginning, but as time goes by, you’ll realize that you don’t feel all lost and confused in the mornings anymore, and that is mostly since you’re tending to your wellbeing and happiness instead of scrolling through someone else’s.

Have a Breakfast That Feels Right

You already know that having breakfast sets your metabolism for success and gives you strength to get out into your day without the crankiness that comes with hunger. When it comes to what you should eat, well that is really up to you, but we wholeheartedly suggest going for some hearty breakfast with lots of protein, fiber, and good carbs to fuel up the body. If you’re trying your luck with meal prepping, then you can get your breakfast ready the night before and just serve it in the morning, it saves, even more, time. When it comes to the process of eating, don’t rush it, take the time to savor the food without any distractions, and yes, we mean your phone and laptop. You should respect the ritual of replenishing yourself; you will enjoy it far more, not to mention that it’s better for your mind and your body.

Get in Some Exercise

Before you get all fussy and defensive, it doesn’t have to be a high-intensity workout, just a bit of gentle stretching (even while you’re still in bed) will do the trick nicely. Your body could use a surge of energy through extremities and organs, so don’t be afraid to work it. Going for a jog or doing some cardio is excellent for your morning exercise routine and in time, it boosts your metabolism and helps you think clearer throughout the day. We would advise getting some physical activity in before you have breakfast, you don’t want to jump around too much with a full stomach.

Quiet Moments – Savor Them

This goes along the lines of taking responsibility for your wellbeing and the thoughts that are constantly running through your head. Being able to distance yourself from all the noise of the outside world and your inner workings is a complete game changer when it comes to how you approach any and every situation and challenge thrown your way. Many are scared by the sole world “meditation,” as they fear they “can’t do it right.” Newsflash, there’s really no right or wrong in bringing yourself to the state of a calm observer, whatever method you use, if it works, go for it. All you need is to sit still and breathe deep, let your thoughts wander, don’t hold on to anything. If you feel like you need assistance, listen to guided meditations and see how they affect you. There’s really no hurt in trying.

Allowing yourself to have morning rituals is an act of taking care of your wellbeing, it means taking an equal interest in this part of your day instead of simply rushing through it. Even if you face stressful situations and negative people, the fact that you’ve grounded yourself as soon as your feet touched the floor first time that day is a factor that will make everything you do much easier and much better. – Vanessa Davis
