Premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Last week during the #PiratesLifeEvent in Hollywood, the red  blue carpet was rolled out for the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. There are so many great photos of the cast and filmmakers in attendance waving to fans and talking to the press as they made their way to the entrance of the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The photo opportunities were endless on the carpet, but they were just as fun once we got inside to experience the premiere party. Selfies to be taken and congratulations and handshakes all around. Check out who was there.

Of course, Johnny Depp was present and was joined by his co-stars, Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya, Scodelario, and Orlando Bloom.

There were also the filmmakers including Jerry Bruckheimer, as well as directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. Also pictured is Johnny Depp with Alan Horn and Bob Iger from Disney.

Walking the carpet for a premiere is always a fun event, here’s a look from some of my photo taken with my phone.

And as for who else did we see on the carpet? Well, here you go!

Once inside we enjoyed some Pirate Punch and passed horderves. We rubbed elbows with some of the celebs, but my favorite was probably the VERY handsome Gilles Marini.

Typically when I cover a premiere we have to turn in our phones before entering the theater. Not for the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. We had the unique opportunity to grab some photos of the venue of the Oscars as well as the cast and filmmakers as they walked out on stage.

It was quite the night. One of those nights I will always remember.

So how was the film?

Jack Sparrow is back. Really what more can I say? If you are already a Pirates fan you will love the fact that there is a bit of backstory in the latest film. In Dead Men Tell No Tales there is never a dull moment. The filmmakers were have brought some very intriguing elements surrounding each of the characters. There’s a good chance you will be shocked, so no spoilers here. The special affects are pretty amazing. The way Capt. Salazar (played by Javier) hair “floats” and there are shark ghosts that are just amazing to see. Oh, and did I mention Jack Sparrow. Johnny Depp’s performance will not let you down, but you can’t discount the newcomers, Brenton plays Henry and Kaya plays Carina. They are both perfectly cast and play off the returning characters perfectly. Geoffery returns as Captain Hector Barbossa, also fulfilling the ultimate Pirates fan expectations.

For a 5th film in the franchise, this could be the best one yet.
