Disney’s Silly Symphony Presentation

While at the D23 EXPO, we were lucky to attend the Silly Symphony Celebration hosted by Leonard Maltin. The stage was set with 32-piece orchestra, some of the most amazing musicians in the business. While playing, two large screens with a montage of several of Disney’s Silly Symphony films from over the years. It sounded so beautiful and really quite a special experience. The selected Silly Symphony shorts, have been restored, making the images high quality and the sound spectacular.

It was amazing to listen to music performed as it would have been recorded during those historic days at the Disney Studios on Hyperion Avenue in the 1920s and ’30s. The sound was incredible and quite a special experience. And come on, LPs, it’s pretty darn cool! Here’s a look at what attending this part of the D23 EXPO was like for me.
