Boulder City: Western Mexican Center #Travel

Hitting places that are off the beaten path make road trips that much more fun and interesting.  While heading to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas, I didn’t really pay attention to what I put in the GPS.  I just said Hoover Dam and picked one of the listed addresses.  I just so happened to push the museum that was in Boulder City.  It was a good thing I did, for it put us right into the historic district of this little southwestern town where we came upon this awesome store.

Boulder City: Western Mexican Center

The Western & Mexican Center has been a family owned Boulder City store for 49 years.  With an eclectic mix of knickknacks and odd souvenirs, we had no problem finding some interesting things to bring back home.

With the funny exterior letting you know that they have dead cows for sale and customers are needed, no experience is necessary, you are guaranteed some fun photos and you will leave with a smile on your face.

From hats, to blankets and even duffel bags, to arrowheads, Christmas ornaments and figurines, the store has all your souvenir hopes under one roof.

If you are in Las Vegas and heading to Hoover Dam, take a few minutes and make a stop in the historical part of Boulder City and say hello to the Gomez family at The Western & Mexican Center!  I promise it is worth it!  And when you do, let me know and tell me what you brought back with you!

* Stopping in Boulder City was part of an incredible road trip sponsored by Ford as part of their #unminivan moments campaign.  Most of my expenses have been covered by Ford but the itinerary, experiences and review of the Ford Transit Connect are 100% my own.
