I am off again, to LaLa land for another press junket and for some reason, this never gets old. Each and every time it’s different and I come home thinking, “How did I get to do this again?” This time I am heading to Los Angeles for the #VeryBadDay event. But I can tell you now, that hashtag is truly deceiving, for the only correlation it will have with the trip is in the title of the new movie coming out in a few weeks, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Bad Day Event Really Make The Best Days
I was lucky to see it on my last trip to LA, and I really enjoyed it! During this trip I will get to sit down with the other 24 lucky bloggers I will be joining for a group interview with Producer Lisa Henson, Steve Carell (“Ben” – @SteveCarell), Jennifer Garner (“Kelly”), Ed Oxenbould (“Alexander”), Dylan Minnette (“Anthony” – @dylanminnette), Kerris Dorsey (“Emily” – @kerrisdorsey), and Bella Thorne (“Celia” – @bellathorne).
When I do these trips, it seems a lot of attention goes towards the interviews. And rightfully so, I mean, I am meeting some of the biggest stars and having time with them that no other media outlet gets. It’s really an incredible experience. One that I will never take for granted. But there is always more. And this time we are having an experience of a lifetime. The night we arrive we will be visiting Walt Disney’s Estate. We will be having cocktails and dessert on the back terrace and then doing a tour of the house, getting a presentation with David Jessen (Vice President, Content Enhancement) with a special appearance by Sarah Hyland – @Sarah_Hyland and then listening to the legacy of Sleeping Beauty with Don Hahn (Executive Producer, Maleficent)
After a good night’s rest at the Sheraton Universal, the place I have been calling home the past few visits, the day will be all about #DisneyInHomeEvent and #FireAndRescue. We will begin the next day with a visit to the Van Nuys Airport where we will meet with Assistant Fire Chief, Steve Martin, to discuss the research that went into the making of Planes: Fire and Rescue as well as talk about National Fire Prevention Week . After lunch at 94th Aero Squadron we will head to one of my favorite places, Disneytoon Studios. There we get to sit down with Paul Gerard (director, creative development) & Jeff Howard (co-writer). Then we will head to my other favorite spot, the Walt Disney Studios lot to hang out for a bit. I am sure I will get a photo of the theater where Snow White’s image used to be, now replaced by Frozen.
The next day we are heading to Disneyland and checking out all the #HalloweenTime decorations. Also while we are there we will be getting a Big Hero 6 4D sneak peek. And then we have all day to play at the park! I am sure there will be lots of photos so make sure to follow along on my Instagram!
That night we will go back to the Walt Disney Studios lot where we will be screening Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
And then Saturday arrives and we will be spending the day talking to the stars. Not only the ones from the movie that I mentioned above, but Star Wars Rebels is coming out and we will be doing a screening of Star Wars Rebels: Spark Of Rebellion. Follow along using #DisneyInHomeEvent and #StarWarsRebels. We will be interviewing Freddie Prince Jr. (voice of “Kanana Jarrus” – @RealFPJr), Taylor Gray (voice of “Ezra Bridger” – @_Taylor_Gray_), Vanessa Marshall (voice of “Hera Syndulla” – @vanmarshall), Tiya Sircar (voice of “Sabine Wren” – @tiyasircar) and Executive Producer Dave Filoni (@dave_filoni).
Whew right? And then after all of that “pinch me, is this really happening moments” we will have dinner at Tokyo Wako Restaurant where A Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day was filmed.
So, as you can see, I will be busy, and you know you can see all the fun by following along on all of my social media as well as connecting with any and all of these links.
