Mary Poppins Returns World Premiere and After Party

Red Carpets are always a bit crazy and lots of fun. The Mary Poppins Returns World Premiere and After Party was no different. In fact, everything about this particular event was magical. From the decorations to the celebrities on the red carpet, this is an event I know I will always remember.

Let’s start with the carpet. We arrived rather early, which was nice for we weren’t rushed. Lined with Cherry Trees the tented red carpet at the Mary Poppins World Premiere was just magical.

Here are a few fun photos from the carpet.

As full as the carpet was with celebs, it was just as fun to take advantage of some photo opportunities with my friends.

Dolby Theater

Most of the premieres I’ve attended have been in the El Capitan, so anytime we go to the Dolby Theatre it’s quite the experience. The Dolby is located right in Hollywood on Hollywood Blvd. It’s where they hold the Oscars, and there’s a good chance I could have been in the seat of an Academy Award winner.

The highlight for me was when Dick Van Dyke entered the room, and instantly the auditorium erupted with applause, and everyone was on their feet. It was amazing to be there for such a special moment. Moments like that make these experiences so memorable.

After watching Mary Poppins Returns with all the celebs just a few rows behind me, the whole cast, music writers, the director and really all that had to do with the film that was in attendance got up on stage to receive a well earned standing ovation.

After Party

So, yes, the cast was at the after party, along with many other familiar faces.   I got a few photos with some celebrities. And I overheard John Krasinski beaming about his wife and how amazing she is in the movie. Lin Manuel Miranda chatted with fans and castmates with his wife close by his side.

Dick Van Dyke did not make it. For 92, he managed to walk the carpet carrying a cane with the Parrothead handle like the one Mary Poppins carries in the film, and then he stopped for fan photos on his way out of the theatre. What a trooper and a true living legend.

I am not one to take a lot of photos at these events with celebrities, so if the opportunity arises to take a quick photo without too much fuss, I will ask. Here are a few fun photos from the night.

It was a fantastic time and an event that will always be remembered. I am looking forward to sharing my Mary Poppins Returns Review soon. Until then enjoy this featurette and make sure to follow along on social media!

I was invited by Disney to attend the #MaryPoppinsReturnsEvent. All opinions are my own.
