I am heading back to my home away from home in less than a week. What takes me to Los Angeles this time? From Sunday, May 22nd – Tuesday, May 24th, Disney has invited me on a press trip to walk the red carpet at the Alice Through the Looking Glass premiere.
Alice Through the Looking Glass Event
Of course, as on all Disney press trips, there will be more than just that one experience during the event. As if walking the red carpet for the Alice Through the Looking Glass Event isn’t already an experience of a lifetime, we will also be interviewing some of the talent and filmmakers. The names of those we will be speaking with will be released soon, so you will have to follow me on social to wait for those announcements.
In Disney’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” an all-new spectacular adventure featuring the unforgettable characters from Lewis Carroll’s beloved stories, Alice returns to the whimsical world of Underland to save her friend the Mad Hatter. Directed by James Bobin, who brings a unique vision to the spectacular world Tim Burton created on screen in “Alice in Wonderland,” the film is written by Linda Woolverton based on characters created by Lewis Carroll and produced by Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd and Tim Burton with John G. Scotti serving as executive producer. “Alice Through the Looking Glass” reunites the all-star cast from the worldwide blockbuster phenomenon, including: Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska, Matt Lucas and Helena Bonham Carter along with the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall. We are also introduced to several new characters: Zanik Hightopp (Rhys Ifans), the Mad Hatter’s father and Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen), a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.
Remember a few months ago when I shared all the fun I had at Walt Disney World for the Zootopia event? Well, continuing on that wave of fun from that incredible move, we will be attending a special press day surrounding the In-Home release of Zootopia. Visiting the Walt Disney Animation Studios is always a treat, and getting some intimate time to interview members of the creative team behind the making of the movie after the film did so well in theaters is always a special treat.
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,” “Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”), opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.
We will sit down with Directors Byron Howard & Rich Moore as well as Raymond Persi (the voice of “Flash”). We also get a chance to step into the recording booth and voice a character from the film, which I had the chance to voice “Dipper” for Planes Fire and Rescue. So I am super excited to do that again!
Another great event that you won’t want to miss so follow along!
